About Tracy Muilenburg
I'm a dedicated school counselor with over 24 years of experience guiding students through one of the most transformative times in their lives. My journey began in the classroom as a middle school English teacher after earning my English degree and teaching certificate from Washington State University. Early on, I realized that what I valued most was helping students navigate their personal and academic paths—so I pursued a Master’s in Child and Family Therapy from Seattle University and eventually transition into school counseling earning my School Counseling certification there, as well.
Over the years, my career has taken me from large public schools in Washington to international classrooms in Bulgaria and Hong Kong, where I worked as a college counselor helping students gain admission to universities around the world. It was during these international roles that I truly fell in love with college counseling. Supporting students as they discover who they are and where they want to go remains one of the most joyful and fulfilling parts of my work.
Currently based in Beaverton, Oregon, I’ve spent the last 11 years at an International Baccalaureate (IB) public school, where I continue to help students explore college options, identify best-fit programs, and navigate the admissions process. I also bring experience working with students applying to international universities in Canada, the UK, Europe, and Japan. In addition to college advising, I’ve taught graduate-level career education courses to future school counselors as an adjunct professor at Lewis & Clark College.
Above all, I believe the college search should be a journey of self-discovery. My student-centered approach ensures that each student’s voice, values, and goals are at the heart of the process. I look forward to learning more about your interests and aspirations—and helping you take the next step toward a future you’re excited about.
